Clarinet Workshop (June 16 - 27)
The Summer Clarinet Workshop is designed to improve the playing of
clarinetists between the ages of 10 and 15 through a combination of
group lessons, master classes, repertoire classes, private lessons and
music theory.

Private Music Lessons
Instrumental music
students can improve their musicianship and playing techniques by
continuing their lessons during the summer.
Group
Lessons (3-5 students)
MCSA offers group lessons for certain instruments and early childhood
music. Appropriate group lessons are scheduled according to demand. (If
you don’t see your favorite class, let us know!)
Ensembles
Practice with other musicians in ensembles with energetic directors.
Learn to play together and make exciting music!
String Quartet, Flute Choir, Saxophone Quartet, Clarinet Quartet, Mixed
Chamber
Ensembles, Chime/Bell Choir, Orchestra,
Community Band.
Visual Art Classes
Figure Drawing:
Beginning students will stay only
for one hour and will be introduced to drawing by sketching what they
see and acquiring fundamental skills needed to be a successful artist.
Studio Art: Advanced artists will stay for a
second hour and explore different media as well as develop their own
technique and style.
Creative Writing Classes
Introductory Writing: Young writers will be
introduced to the writing process through a series of activities and
exercises. Grammar and correct spelling will be reinforced and a printed
work will be shared with others.
Poetry for
Prose: Youth who show a desire for creative
expression will enjoy this class. Students will explore more deeply
words, and their meanings while reinforcing important writing and
literary skills. A finished piece of writing will be created and shared.
