Ariana Lamon-Anderson (Flute, Saxophone) B.M., M.M, Peabody Conservatory of Music Ms. Lamon-Anderson has extensive private teaching and performance experience throughout the Washington/Baltimore area. 2006-07 performances have included “Babes in Toyland” with the Baltimore Actors’ Theater Orchestra, Benjamin Britten’s “Rape of Lucretia” with the Peabody Chamber Opera, and “Cats” presented by Memorial Episcopal Church. Ms. Lamon-Anderson has over 10 years experience teaching individual students of all ages, and additional experience instructing children with disabilities.

Matthew Bickel (Trumpet) Bachelor of Music, Eastman School of Music.  Studies with Barbara Butler and James Thompson.  Performed with the National Orchestral Institute, Music Academy of the West Summer Festivals, Buffalo, Harrisburg, Fairfax, and Annapolis Symphonies, and the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra.  CD recordings: several recordings for the History and Discovery channels.

*Maria Broom (Theatre, Dance) Berlin Dance Academy in Germany.  Performed throughout the United States, Germany, Hawaii, Uganda, Ghana.  Film and video performances on HBO, NBC, Warner Bros., NEMA, American Heart Assn.  Performed theatre with the Henry Street Playhouse, Center Stage, Theatre Hopkins, Arena Playhouse, Cockpit in Court, Splitting Image Theatre,  African American Drama Company, and other numerous theatre productions. Dance Artist in Residence at Fisk University.  Awards include Eubie Blake Award and the Sarah’s Circle Award.

Maxwell Brown (Piano) B.M. in Piano Performance, Peabody Conservatory of Music; M.M in Piano Performance, University of Maryland College Park. Performances and awards include the Baldwin Prize of the Eastern Music Festival, appearances at Sprague and Woolsey Halls at Yale University, Strathmore Mansion, and the White House. Principal teachers have included Thomas Martin, Robert Weirich, Donald Currier and Gregory Sioles. While studying at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven CT, Mr. Brown was the sole participant in a master class with renowned pianist Andre Watts.  Mr. Brown currently serves as the organist/pianist at Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Baltimore, and for the Heritage Signature Chorale in Washington, D.C. He is a Project Manager for the International Piano Archives at the University of Maryland.

Kelly Burgess (Violin/Viola/Composer) B.S Music Education, University of Maryland-College Park; Taught privately for more than eight years as well as taught at numerous the Prince George’s County Public Schools; currently orchestra director at Oxon Hill High School; Charter member of the Kinara String Quartet with residency at the Levine School of Music in Washington; Founder/Director of MCSA String Quartet;  Frequent freelancer including performances with professional vocalists, orchestras, and choirs including Aretha Franklin, Stanley Corwell, Shirley Caesar and Darren Atwater. 

*Forestine C. Bynum  (Poetry) Published Ruminations on Colored Folks, a collection of Black heritage poems.  Hosted Barnes and Nobles, Bowie Town Center Poetry Series, Poetry seminar for the Prince George’s County Arts Council Harlem Renaissance.  Co-editor of Tuesdays, a local journal highlighting the talent of local poets.  Served as judge for the Virginia Poetry Society Poetry Competition performances include solo recital appearances throughout the United States and Far East, Accompanist for professional vocalists and instrumentalists, chorus and choirs.

*Phyllis Glenn (Art) BFA in Illustration,  Philadelphia College of Art.  Additional studies include American University, Tyler School of Art. Exhibits include Prince Georges County Arts Council, Borders Books, Ethnic Heritage Festival, Rockville Arts Place, Mansion Art Gallery of Rockville.  Published Illustrations include Ms. Positivity, Canterbury Bridge and Other Poems of Jamaica and Air Jamaica.

Lisa Green (Art) M.A., John Hopkins School of Medicine. BFA, Pratt Institute. Experience collaborating with art directors, project managers, physicians, and lawyers to create informative and marketable designs.  Experience with various computer software and technologies. Exhibited at The Embassy of the Republic, Apex Gallery, Prince Georges Community College, Hoopla Traders, Prince Georges County Executives Office, National  Black Arts Festival, Communication Workers of America, Gallerie 500, ArtScape 95, and International Travel. Produced print works for LM&O, Travis Consulting, Spirithouse, OOOPS! Publications, PG County Parks / Planning Commission, ICTraining  Group, Sankofa International, Mitchellville Community School of the Arts, and Global Visions Media of Axum Institute.

Jane Lemay (Piano, Early Childhood Education) M.Ed, Frostburg State University.  B.A., in Early Childhood Education. Performances include accompanying voice majors, senior recitals, collgium, and choirs. Freelanced for weddings, churches and many schools.

Jess Lightner (Tuba/Low Brass) M. M., University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  Bachelor of Music, University of Kansas.  Performance include: U.S. Air Force Band Ceremonial Brass, Prism Brass Quintet. Performer/Clinician, Brevard Music Center and  University of Oregon.  TV appearance, NBC’s  “Today Show.”

Matthew Manturuk (Percussion)  M.ED and Bachelor of Music, Eastern  Michigan University.   M. M. in Percussion Performance, New England Conservatory of Music.  Studied with Frank Epstein, Whitney Prince, Norman Fickett, and Sam Tundo.  Performed with the U.S . Naval Academy Band, Lansing and Macomb Symphony Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and Brockton Symphony Orchestra.  Percussion arranger and instructor for Pride of Soka Drum and Bugle Corps (Tokyo, Japan),  Etiwanda High School, Lassiter High School, and Milford High School. Artist in Resident, Kennesaw State University.  Winner,  E.M.U. Symphony Orchestra Concerto Contest.  Recipient of Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.

Tiffani Perry (Clarinet) B.M. Peabody Conservatory of Music; M.M Catholic University of America. An experienced performer, teacher, and chamber musician/coach, Ms. Perry has taught extensively throughout the Washington, D.C. area for over 10 years. Her students have been among the finalists and winners in national and regional events, including the National Symphony Young Soloists Competition, Kingsville National Competition, All-State and County Bands and Honors Orchestras, and the Interlochen Summer Music Camp among others. Her music publications include creation and revision of the Clarinet Curriculum for a major music preparatory program in the Washington Area, along with scale, technique, and assignment manuals for use by students. Ms. Perry is currently pursuing her Doctor of Music Education at Boston University, and is a faculty member of the Levine School of Music.

Amy Stennett (Cello) B.A. in Cello Performance in progress, The Catholic University.  Studied with Suzanne Orban.  Played with Columbia Orchestra, All County Honors and Chesapeake Youth Orchestras. Master classes with Sunrise String Quartet and National Philharmonic Summer Strings Camp.

Emiko Tanabe (Piano) M.A. in Music Theory, City University of New York at Queens. Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Manhattan School of Music. Studied with Marc Silverman, German Diez, Elizabeth DiFelice, and Masako Saito.  Performances include: Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Santa Chiara Chapel, and The Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.  Former faculty, Queens Music and Dance School (piano and theory), New York Area (freelance piano teacher).  Currently a member of The Music and Arts Center (piano teacher).

Linda Teasley (Voice) D.M.A. University of Maryland, College Park, M.M, Voice, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, B.S. in Music Education, Lebanon Valley College. Voice instructor at Georgetown University.  Performances include various opera companies to Carnegie Hall, from the Los Angeles World Music Festival to The Kennedy Center and from UNLV’s Cashman Auditorium to the Washington Folk Festival.  Appeared with Cincinnati Pops, The National Symphony Orchestra and on nationally televised events.  Recordings include Global Standard Time with her husband percussionist Tom Teasley, Argentine Art Songs, and United States Navy Band.

Lesya Williams (Piano) M.A in Piano Pedagogy, State Music Conservatory, Kharkov, Ukraine; Bachelor in Piano Pedagogy, State Music College, Kiev, Ukraine. Extensive experience teaching General and Choral Music and piano for students of all ages. Formerly the accompanist for the Ensemble of Military Forces of the Ukraine, Ms. Williams frequently accompanies student and professional performers throughout the Washington/Baltimore/Annapolis area. Her expertise in Piano Pedagogy enables her to tailor her teaching approach to the needs of individual students. Ms. Williams is currently pursuing an M.S. in Music Education at Towson State University.
